Did this song actually *invent* Punk? Not so sure that any song or artist did, but this is under heard and overly amazing

I'd rather Jack
Seriously, every band i work with at the moment and every band that i get sent a press release by state Fleetwood Mac as an influence. Now don't get me wrong, i understand that enough time has passed by for the Mac to be appreciated for the fantastic run they had in the mid 70's, culminating in the majesty of 'Tusk', but why the need for every band to be thought of in the context of the Mac right now? For some I think it's purely and simply the hooks and melody's, for others, it's that amazing combination of virtuosity and dry production that sets a certain, brilliant aesthetic, whilst some love the 'guilty pleasure' aspect. Either way there are very few artists who deserve to be mentioned in the same breath.
here's one.

and (one of) my fav Mac song(s)

New Jamz on Tuesday
These guys have definitely heard a few early Prince records
Haven't decided whether i hate it or not yet, but i watched to the end.
Definitely don't hate this next one though (NB not for those under 18 this video)
Lastly, this is about 1 zillion times better than Fleet Foxes - still not 100% i like it though, will see if it grows

For some reason over the last week, I've been playing a lot of Jazz records. Thing is, even writing 'Jazz' down let alone saying it, makes me feel a little embarrassed. Too many memories of pretentious students with Charlie Parker posters on their walls, or having to listen to musicians noodle out and bore the tits off me.
Anyways, this is great and as good as anything Can were doing around the same time, which is high praise indeed.
Discovered this one via Jim O'Rourke's seminal 'Eureka' LP. Menacing, sexy and unsettling. So pretty ace really
This one is almost too beautiful

The Frog Chorus
We all know by now that this ridiculous notion of McCartney being the solid melodicist and Lennon the wide-eyed innovator is a load of guff. But not many people know that Macca basically invented rave back in 1980 (ok, he didn't but i'm debunking myths here). Check this video for a blast of PM electro and if you so wish go to the download link to grab a Macca Balearic 12"
